One, Two, Three Little Indians
"Big Tom followed behind, all the anguish and frustration drained from him so that there was nothing left to carry him into another day. Heedless now of the coughing which tore his chest apart, he pushed along in the rain, hurrying to join to his wife in the vigil over their dead."
Reflection
...This short fiction relates to my quotation ," man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated"- Ernest Hemingway. Because in this story "Big Tom" did every thing he could do to protect and save his son from dying, but eventually death took over Big Tom's little baby, and that destroyed Big Tom and to make it even worse when he arrived home he had found out his wife had been drinking and sleeping with other men. In the end Big Tom still had enough strength to walk home soaking wet in the rain even though he had walk for hours and nothing left to give, which proves man can not be defeated.
